The used EV market is booming — and so are the risks. A battery that's lost 25% capacity costs the same as a new one on the listing, but delivers 60–80 km less range. Our EV inspection tells you exactly what you're getting.
A standard pre-purchase inspection focuses primarily on the mechanical systems of a vehicle. An EV requires a different approach — combining a comprehensive mechanical inspection with specialized testing of its high-voltage and electric-drive systems.
Our NexDrive EV Pre-Purchase Inspection evaluates the complete vehicle, including the high-voltage battery and battery management system (BMS), charging system and charge port, electric drive motor(s), inverter and power electronics, high-voltage cables and connections, and thermal management system.
Battery condition is still an important part of the inspection. Using professional diagnostic equipment — including the Autel scan tool and VoltScore battery health testing — we assess available battery data, including state of health (SoH) where supported, to provide additional insight into the condition and performance of the high-voltage battery.
As a NAPA NexDrive VoltScore partner shop, every pre-purchase inspection includes a certified VoltScore battery report. VoltScore analyzes hundreds of data points — range, capacity, charging history, and cell balance — to score battery degradation, premature failure risk, and physical damage that won't show up on the dashboard. You get an independent, shareable report to back up our own hands-on inspection, not just our word for it.
We also perform a comprehensive inspection of the vehicle's brakes and regenerative braking system, steering and suspension, tires, wheel bearings, cooling systems, HVAC system, underbody, drivetrain components, fluid condition and levels where applicable, and overall mechanical condition.
The vehicle is also scanned for diagnostic trouble codes and system faults that may not trigger a warning light or be apparent during a short test drive.
The result is a much more complete picture of the EV you're considering — covering both the traditional mechanical components and the specialized systems that make an electric vehicle different.
A comprehensive Digital Vehicle Inspection Report is provided with the inspection, documenting the vehicle's condition and identified maintenance or repair requirements.
